Email problems

i have a user having email problems

the main user account that is created is having issues ... hopefully i can get some input to track it down

when attempting to login with UebiMiau client gets this error msg

"Login error :.
You cannot login with the username and password entered.
Please check your username and password and try again.
Back"

when attempting to retrieve mail via outlook express client gets same error ... invalid username or password

however, client can login using squirrelmail fine .. no errors ... no problems

client has several pop3 accounts setup ... however this one .. the main user ... is the only one giving these problems

i have a different user ... same server .. dont know if they are related

clients problem is with a account they made .. not the main user

most often the problem is that Outlook doesn't detect that they have new mail, but when they check in Webmail or Squirrelmail, there is. Recently, though, some mail to them has been bouncing...

sorry for be lengthy .. but trying to give all the details

where should i start??

First Client: In the web based e-mail you enter only username.
In outlook you have to enter [email protected]

Also in outlook, if you have multipule entries of the same e-mail account, you will get an error that will ask you to re-enter your password everytime you conect to the mail server. Whaen you click OK It will check 1 mesage at a time. If you click cancel then it will disconect for that account.

Second Client: Try, http://www.dnsreport.com/
Enter the user's e-mail address and see what comes up.
Also enter you domain name and see what comes up.

Thanks for the reply Jason,

Everything works with squirrelmail .. however this client wants to use UebiMiau ... i have tried it both ways .. username and [email protected] .. UebiMiau wont allow me to login
i dont think he has the email setup but once in outlook .. so i dont think that is going to be the problem

im working on your advice for the 2nd client .. just wanted to get some more feedback on the first

edit: ok .. i checked the domain and email address in question (client 2) .. both check out .. any other suggestions?

I am getting this very problem too!

Squirrelmail is fine but POP3 or /webmail just won't login.

Any solutions anyone?
