Unless I am missing something, it appears that there is no way for an email user to change their forwarding/vacation settings without having access to the hosting control panel.

Obviously, if they are just a user of email on the account they should not have access to the account's control panel but should have a small panel that they can log into with their email account authentication that will allow them to change the forward/vacation settings.

Did I miss that? If it doesn't exist, why not? I can't imagine that I am the first person to notice this glaring omission...

Hmm....

ok. Any talk of adding it? The forward and vacation features are sort of worthless without it....

This has been beaten like a dead horse to DA. I just don't see it happening anytime soon. I know I requested this along with others over a year ago. This is really anecessary feature these days. I suppose revamping a lot of the mail system is in order though.

It could be done with a new module for DA. It could probably be done with a plugin.

How do you figure? Are all the API's for this now available?
A plugin could be written to run something as root that could do it.

In the absense of API calls you'd need to know exactly white files need to be changed.

While we don't disclose what we've learned about the DA file system (both because of issues with the DMCA and our own liability issues if we make a mistake), it should be easy to reverse engineer how it works through a thorough reading and understanding of the routers in the exim.conf file.

I've edited my response directly above, and since I don't know how many people have read it, I thought I'd bring the edit to everyone's attention here.
