A customer informed me about a vanished email. She got an email with big attachments, and while downloading one of the attachments, her network connection was disrupted. As she got internet again, the email was gone from her inbox, and with it the attachments.
Can this happen? Can the email become somehow corrupt in this process, so that it doesnt show anymore in the inbox?
Thanks

Maybe with pop3, but with a broken connection I doubt it because in that case there would not be an acknowledgement of the reception of the mail.
So in the Exim mainlog something should be seen, either a "completed" or an error.
Or else in the maillog file. Nothing in there? No "dele" command?

Is that really gone ? Did you checking directly to mailbox directory ?
Using browser with incognito mode and connect via roundcube still not visible ?

Thanks guys, i cant check it yet, still waiting for concrete details about the mail (sender and time) to find it in the logs, she hasnt answered till now.
It was Imap. She had the mail already visible in her inbox folder. So mail was accepted / delivered. But aftwards, on downloading the attachment and broken internet, mail gone.

Ok i got it sorted out, it really seems to have been a POP access by a new coworker. All good, I had a backup and was able to help them. Thank you, guys!
