Hi, I am trying to debug some pop3 problems and i've noticed that my maillog is completely empty and I think it always has been. I've recompiled da_vm-pop3d with --enable-debug and added debug command to its inet.d entry but still nothing. Just noticed my messages file is empty also, anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

Have realised it is a problem with syslogd. I stopped the syslog service and started the daemon with syslogd -d for debug mode and things started working fine. If I stop syslogd from the console and start the service it is starts writing to the logs fine. However if I remove one of the log files and recreate with 0 bytes with touch the service stops writing to it again. But if I run syslog -d it starts again!

Pretty confusing. Basically means whenever I reboot im going to have to run syslogd -d from the console first in order for the syslog service to write to the files ok.. unless anyone has any idea of a permanent fix.

Sorry I realise this isn't the most coherant explanation!

It's maillog on my server and it is full of entries (19MB).

Yeah here it's /var/log/mail.log too. (Debian)
I need to know where I can change the paths of the DA LogViewer.
Since there it's requesting /var/log/maillog and it gives the error: Unable to read log.

Anyone knows? I couldn't find these paths in directadmin.conf
