error 404 for /doc folder

Hi,

My client use /doc to store some files for his site and it hit error code 404;
we tested by changing the directory name, those files could run with no problem.

Is it we could not use /doc folder for our website ?
If is it so what other folder name we should avoid to use as well ?
Appreciate your advise

Is the /doc under the public_html folder? It needs to be so as to be seen on the Internet.

Yes the /doc folder is inside public_html. Somehow it just refused to be called. Once I change the folder name to /docu it works fine.

Quite strange.
