Error connecting to MySQL

Hi

Actually i have this problem with my db and i don't know what should i do my VPS is centOS 6.3

# service mysqld start
/etc/init.d/mysqld: line 256: my_print_defaults: command not found
Starting MySQL ERROR! Couldn't find MySQL server (/usr/bin/mysqld_safe)

and when i want to make a db on directadmin it shows me

Error connecting to MySQL: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2)

Do you have directadmin on your server?

Alex, he said he does have DirectAdmin.

How fdid you get your VPS installation of DirectAdmin? Who installed it?

You may need to reinstall your hosting stack through CustomBuild.
