Hi all - still fairly new at DA, so bare with me. Originally, I setup 6 domains about 4 months ago. Since then, I updated DA with the latest version, and I went to create a new domain today and I get this error:

Error Creating Domain

Details

Unable to write user's httpd.conf
Trouble with symlink : File exists
Can't open file /etc/virtual/domains for reading
Can't open file /etc/virtual/domainowners for reading

Error Creating Domain

Problem is - I don't have anything called virtual/domains on the system. I'm wondering if the DA update changed something where my domains sit? Hoping to get some answers soon - I'm a little confused :D

DA requires these files (among others) to work:
Code:
$ ls -al /etc/virtual/domain*
-rw-r--r--  1 mail mail 8388 Jun  4 11:37 /etc/virtual/domainowners
-rw-r--r--  1 mail mail 5620 Jun  4 11:37 /etc/virtual/domains
Of course on your system the files may be of different size.

Updating DirectAdmin shouldn't do anything with these files.

But if you run out of filesystem space you could have this problem.

What is the output of this command on your server:
Code:
$ df -h

Hi Jeff - output shows as:

Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/mapper/VolGroup00-LogVol00
71G 22G 47G 32% /
/dev/sda1 99M 8.9M 85M 10% /boot
none 252M 0 252M 0% /dev/shm

Yes, the problem is that I didn't have a problem before the upgrade, so I'm not sure what changed.

Hello,

Please let us any updates on above issue.

Thank you,

sam

This thread is almost four years old. If you're having an issue similar to this one, it's still unlikely you problem is the same, unless you haven't updated your system in almst four years.

Please explain your problem in a new thread.

I've just closed this thread.
