Error when using email forwarder

I setup an email forwarder from address A to addresses X, Y and Z

to test, I sent an email from account X to address A. and I got the following error message:
SMTP error from remote mail server after RCPT TO:<xxxxxx>:
host xxxxxx.psmtp.com [xxxxxx]:
571 incorrect IP - psmtp

But if I send a message to address A from a different email account (not Y or Z) the forward works fine.

Any ideas as to why this would be?

Check /var/log/exim/mainlog

Please, run

exigrep HERE_YOUR_EMAIL /var/log/exim/mainlog

Substitute HERE_YOUR_EMAIL with a certain email address.

and post here your results.
