Hi,

one of our clients wants to use an exchange server for their mx records. Let's say they want to use the ip 217.104.00.000 (just an example).

Is this possible and if it is, how? In DA I only can specify 01 to 10 for MX records, I can't find an option like in Cpanel to specify an ip...

Thanks!

MX records do NOT point at IP#s; they point at domain names and hostnames only.

So you have to have an A record for the hostname, pointing to the server you want to use for the mail server.

The "0 through 10" indicate priority, and are only important when you have multiple MX records. Email servers will get all MX records, and try the one with the lowest number (the highest priority). If that doesn't work, they'll try the next, etc.
