Exclude Email from backups (globally)

We have dedicated DNS and Email servers and don't have those on our web servers. Is there a way to exclude the Email category and all the options under it when a user does a site backup?

I'll attach a screenshot of what I am hoping to exclude for clarity.

If just having them unchecked by default is how it must be done, I guess that is better than nothing. However, not even appearing as an option to include (hidden) would be better.

Richard, Thank you so much for all your help. If memory serves me you have jumped in to assist on every thread I have created.

That being said, I am too old a dog to teach this new trick I am afraid. The licensing cost difference on half a dozen shared hosting servers is just not enough to account for all the additional effort and time I am putting in attempting to shift my paradigm. It is not that DA isn't a capable product, because it certainly is, but I have 30 years of cPanel to undo to learn this. I am still struggling with some very simple concepts, and the time I will save using what I already have a familiarity with will make up the cost differences. So we have decided we are going to stick with cPanel despite really not liking the direction Web Pros is taking them.

This is certainly something I still might recommend to someone just starting out that has not invested a lifetime in a particular hosting panel, but for me it is more that I have the mental bandwidth for at the moment. Thank you again.

Richard, Thank you so much for all your help.
You're very welcome. My pleasure.

Pity to see you go back to cPanel, but for sure after 30 years of experience with that I can't blaim you. Directadmin sometimes takes a bit of a learning curve, which is ofcourse also why it's cheaper.
I also administer a cPanel server for years and I fully understand where you're coming from. I hardly have to look at it. So if you have to take that learning curve now after 30 years, I probably doubt I would have done that either. ;)

I hope for you Web Pro's is not going too far, because I don't trust them a bit, Plesk also already raised prices after they took over. Maybe we see each other again some time!

I don't know if and where you can hide it, but it is possible to exclude from backup globally.

so you could include Maildir and imap so no mail would be in the backup.
Hey,

does this still works? Tried both Per user and global settings, imap and Maildir, still included in backups with DA version 1.674. And how can i customize evolution skin to stop showing Email category in user level backups as John mentioned in first post?
