Now i know from google that this was a bug in Exim en was fixed in 4.5 version or so, but stull we're getting this error.

Wenn i stop and start exim again it exim works again.

I also updated Exim to version 4.62 but it didn't help.

Does anyone know how to fix this ?

What version of exim are you running? Look here for the official exim explanation. If you're getting the problem on a later version there may be a bug in Exim.

Mine is exim 4.62. After long-long time, it has recently started showing this symptom... This message is written so many times in the main and panic logs that the HDD fills up until I stop exim, delete these logfiles and restart exim.

So far I have not found the solution. All I do now is that I run a cronjob every 2 minutes which detects this error message in the log and if it finds it, it will delete the logs and restart exim. But this is not the real solution...

Since no one else has reported the problem in some time I'd suggest asking on the exim-users mailing list. See exim.org.

Jeff

In the meanwhile I upgraded exim to 4.69 but also have left my "healing" cronjob on the server. Time will tell if the problem was related to the previous exim version or something else.
