Hi,

We are wanting to stop using directadmin and move to something else, this is because calpop are hosting our server and their uptime / customer service is beyond the joke and damaging our reputation with our clients.

Anyway, I think I can export everything fine using php api code but I guess we are going to struggle finding out passwords for email boxes that are on there (maybe they are 1 way encrypted or something?)

So is there anyway of determining passwords for mailboxes so that we can set up the same mailboxes on the new system?

Thanks for any help,

Paul

Passwords are nonrecoverable. Depending on what else you're switching to, you may be able to recover the password codes from the password files (/etc/shadow for the system users and the virtual password files for mailboxes) and paste them into your new system; this may or may not work. It would require good knowledge of both systems.

Since Calpop has nothing to do with DirectAdmin why don't you just switch to DirectAdmin on a server elsewhere? Then backup and restore would work.

Jeff
