Dear guys,

A customer of mine had een exchange mail server.

This domain is now hosted by me. I change the MX Records so he get his emails to his server. Now he complain about many spams ons his mail. I have installed on my server Spamassisian 3.1.7.

Is there anyway to block spam. Het get a lots of spam. I know we cant stop spam completly but we can increase it.

Please help me with a solution.

- Can i lets check the emails firtst our spamfilter and send it to his email server. if Yes How?

Not easily. And not by using his machine in MX.

I'm not sure if you can even forward email to thim; I'm not sure DA runs SpamAssassin against email it forwards.

SpamBlocker on your server will check and block if necessary, all incoming email.

It blocks based on the server sending it.

You'll only forward what passes SpamBlocker.

Appriver isn't something you install; it's a service. Or you can get their software development kit (SDK) for us$495/year.

Or at least that's what their website says.

Hoi Powerdomein,

i also had a customer with an exchange server that was spammed beyond belief. We set up the exchange so it pop-ed to the server where we setup a adress called "[email protected]" or something, all employees where setup in the redirection sheet which point to getitall.

The exchange server pop-s for getitall and than distrubutes among the employees locally.

This way the DA-servers has to bear the spam-load but since it's somehow far more better in that task than an exchange-server :) there i now a cutback of more than 95% because of Spamassassin filtering those mails.

You can also try to implement a service like http://www.nospamtoday.com or spamfighter or whatever on your server. I have Trend Micro SMB installed which is not only a good virusscnner but also checks for spam.
