:fail: does not work

Hello,

When I set my catch-all to :fail: I get the following error messages from exim:

2008-02-26 12:35:55 H=xxx.xx.xxxxxxxx.xxx [xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx] F=<[email protected]> rejected RCPT <[email protected]>:
2008-02-26 12:35:56 H=xxx.xx.xxxxxxxx.xxx [xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx] incomplete transaction (RSET) from <[email protected]>

If I set the catch-all to :blackhole: it works.
What can be wrong?

I just recieved a "mail delivery error message" so it seems to work OK, but why does it take 1 hour to get the error message in my email box?

Perhaps because it got a soft failure several times, and only after an hour got a hard failure. It's impossible to tell without a lot more information, including of course unmunged log file entry snippets.
