hi,

i have update all server to php4.4.0 ,
the one of directadmin give in custumapache,

and now squirrelmail, on each server say this error when we try to open an attachement in a email

Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in /var/www/html/squirrelmail-1.4.5/src/read_body.php on line 431


how can i fix it ??

I have this exact same problem. Even down to the line number after updating.

I'm on FreeBSD.

1. if you use php 4.4.x - disable register globals. Known issue. fixed in SquirrelMail 1.4.6cvs.

2. if you use php 4.4.1 - upgrade to php 4.4.x-dev or downgrade to 4.4.0. PHP 4.4.1 has known issues with next() and prev() functions.

I'm also encountering this error too. I have applied the fix, and disabled register global in the php but still cant work.

DOWNGRADE PHP TO PHP4.3.11

IF YOU disable register globals,

few web sites in php going to stop to work..

FIX:

Open the download.php file:
# nano /var/www/html/squirrelmail-1.4.5/src/download.php

Go to line 52 adn change it to:
$message = $messages[$mbx_response['UIDVALIDITY']]["$passed_id"];

Go to line 58 and change it to:
$message = $message->getEntity($ent_id);

Save the file and try again to download the attachment

Hmm before I edit the upload.php file I also tried to update squirrelmail.
But no succes, strange..
