[FEAT] Change skin on User Level

Hi, some users of DirectAdmin want to change their skin to another. But i would let them do by their selfs but there isnt a feature for doing this.

Well, i got an idea:

Admin or Reseller may disable or enable that specify users may change their skin or better the admin or reseller may select which skin the user may have.

Like this.

User: Jan Gebit
Availibilty to change skins: [Selected]
Enchanted [Selected]
Power User [Unselected (user may not choose that skin)]
Default [Selected]

User: Herman
Availibility to change skins: [Unselected (user may not choose ANY skin)]
PowerUser

And maybe another idea... The admin may select that the reseller may do this things what i said above ;).

Not that I agree (just a overall setting for each reseller would do it for me), but why make it so specific? Wouldn't a setting for each user do it?
 
bump! wanna have also the possibility to change skin on user level, any news out there?
 
+1 from me as well. I looked into making a plugin for this feature as a temp fix, but found out that the file that would need to be changed is in place that normal users can't access because the file also contains their resource limits.
 
I can look into it.. the catch is that it would be absolutely required to have the ability to hide certain skins from Users.. the per-user setting of skin availability gets a bit messier. The reason is that many Reseller may have customized skins that they don't want to give out.. or possibly skins being developped, hence you won't want your users playing with unfinished code.
Also, by default a User wouldn't be able to chose any skins, for backwards compatibility. Perhaps, once a Reseller grants a specific skin to his list, then any User he creates after that could see it (plus the ones already created)

So the question I have.. is a per-user setting for skins required? or can you settle for a per-Reseller level option, where the Reseller set's the list for all of his Users?

Yes, there are some resellers that created skins for email only, etc... So giving users the ability to select any skin the reseller has uploaded would be a small security hole actually.

I will settle for anything, of course. Any effort to make anything a bit more flexible is always welcome.

For now, if you don't wanna spend to much time on this, you can have a checkbox to allow or dissallow skin select globally (for all users)

But it might be more practical to program this at skin level (not at reseller or user level)

For example:

Skin Name ------ Skin Owner ------ User Selectable ------ Select
marina ------------- admin --------------- X------------- X

This would solve the "non production skin" assignment problem, and possibly other problems.

This might be the most flexible aproach if you have little time to spend (which I know you do)
 
As for me, I don't need a per-user limitations... Maybe, there can be selectable skins, which users can select from and to, and not selectable, from and to which user cannot switch?
