Folder lost when trying to compress

I wanted to compress a folder with the built-in 'Compress to tar.gz' button

Instead of copying the files into the clipboard I just selected the folder. After pressing the 'Compress' button, an error was provided and the folder I wanted to compress had desappeared!

Is there any way to recover the folder?

Thanks!

PD I've checked the issue happens like that always, so I guess this is an annoying point to revise in DA.

Hello,

Can you describe what you mean by "selected the folder" ?

Did you use the checkbox on the right, or did you click the folder name to view the folder contents?
There is no "Compress" button, only a "create" button at the very bottom.

What was the all important error message that was provided? This is key here. Was it a javascript popup or a new page?

If you selected the folder with the checkbox, and instead of clicking the "Add to Clipboard" button.. you click "Delete" .... it wil give you a pop (perhaps that's the error?) .. then of course, your folder would be deleted if you click yes.

There have not been other reports, and I'm not quite sure how to duplicate it... maybe see if you can duplicate it and if in fact it was just a slip of the mouse finger on the wrong button.

HI,

Thanks for your answer, and excuse me for being so imprecise.

1. I checked the box on the right, and pressed 'Create'

2. A new page was opened with something similar to 'Couldn't create tar.gz file'. After that, the whole folder I had checked was lost.

3. Today I've been trying to reproduce the problem, but I haven't got the same result as yesterday.

I know all indicates it was me who did something wrong, but I'm sure of what happened (and that I lost the folder too).

I'll keep trying to reproduce it again and I'll will keep you informed.

Thank you again!

Enric
