Folder Subdomains

Yes. Just create the subdomain like if it was a normal domain: Click on "Domain Setup" and "Add Another Domain", there you type in the subdomain instead of a regular domain. If the subdomain already exist (as a normal subdomain in DirectAdmin, remember to delete it before adding it again).

This creates a folder with the name of the subdomain, the subdomain is not pointing to the domain, but the new folder is created

Are your sure you did exactly what I suggested? And also that you first deleted the subdomain? Then something is wrong with the server settings to your webhost, and you shold complain to them and have them fix it.

I think that ditto may be misunderstanding. The easy way to have a subdomain point to the same folder as the main domain is to set u an alias.
