I'm not responding to your suggestion because that would be up to John or Mark to make the decision.
However, you don't have to report posts if you don't want to. All moderators and administrators delete spam as they see it. I can't speak for others but though I sometimes get a few days behind, I eventually read ALL posts to the forums, and I've gotten quite good at figuring out spam signatures, and even invisible signatures simply there in an attempt to game Google.
I believe all moderators appreciate your efforts, but if you don't report the spam it will still eventually get deleted.
