Forward with autoreply turned on not working

I myself have had this issue, and now a customer. Problem is, when I setup an email with a forward AND an auto responder it then will not forward. I still get the auto response, but it never gets forwarded.

If I take the auto responder off, it forwards fine. Anyone else seen this? Is there a solution, or work around for this? I can't figure out a reason this would be happening.

It sounds to me like a order of operation problem, it is responding to the letter and because the letter is turned around right there and sent back it never gets to the forwarding part. I'm not sure how you can fix this though.
 
It would be a matter of tracing the flow through the exim.conf file.

I remember seeing this subjects discussed in another thread.

I don't have time to look at it right now; I thought it had been fixed.
