I configured custombuild to cron mail if there are updates; I later found out I never got mail because the 'mail' command was not available.

Maybe CB could check if mail is available when doing a ./build cron, and if not suggest to install mailx (apt-get install bsd-mailx for debian worked for me).

Hello,

I like the idea of Arieh.

Maybe it's a better solution to add mailx to the pre-install commands because it's really needed

But still as it seems to me some users fail to follow pre-install commands and try to install Directadmin without requirements. I'd really like to have pre-install commands to be run with setup.sh. Why setup.sh does not install all the requirements?

Regards,
Alex.

As of 2 days ago, the setup.sh does ask and will run the pre-install for you. There are a few exceptions, like perl which must exist before anything, as it's used in the setup.sh before the pre-install commands are run.I'll get CB to check for the mail command.John
