Just had this from a client:

I have a user with an email address using the email option - not autoforwarder.Is there a way I can give direct access to the Vacation Message function without logging on to the main account?

I assume they have many email addresses for various people, therefore, would like each to be able to access their own vocation message without the mail owner giving out the account password.

You can use dovecot + sieve (pigeonhole) + roundcube (supported by CustomBuild 2.x) for that.

Ok, I need to install a plugin for Roundcube (eg. http://www.forum.directadmin.com/showthread.php?t=43242 ), but I too get the error the OP gets.. If I do manage to install this, will plugins directories survive updates?

Shouldnt /usr/local/directadmin/custombuild/custom/roundcube/config.inc.php be /usr/local/directadmin/custombuild/custom/roundcube/config/config.inc.php?

No. The guide is correct.
In the build script you may see:

ROUNDCUBE_CONFIG=${CWD}/custom/roundcube/config.inc.php
