Freedom with RPM versions

Can anyone tell me if DA is impartial when it comes to upgrading services such as apache, php, mysql etc. I see that in the installation instructions it says to not install those servers but to let DA install them for you, does that mean we'll have to wait for an update before DA will run with newer versions of server software?

The main problem I have with Plesk is that you have to mostly rely on their own builds of apache, php etc and installing a newer version can mess the entire server up, due to plesk itself. Therefore I'm looking for a viable alternative to plesk.

Of course DA is way better than Plesk (I hate this).

With custombuild, you can compile any software version very easily.

Thanks for that, I didn't see custombuild was a part of DA.
