Fresh CentOS 8 install, can't change MariaDB to MySQL 8

I have a fresh install of CentOS 8 and did the DirectAdmin auto install. I want to change MariaDB 10.4 to MySQL 8 but when I try I get the following message

If you wish to use MySQL, please install MySQL 5.5 first, and then you'd be able to upgrade to a newer version of it. Please note that MariaDB 10.x migration to MySQL is considered a downgrade and might not work.

I can't select MySQL 5.5 even from the command line so not sure where to go from here.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I really don't want to install CentOS 7 on a brand new system as it will limit it's shelf life.

Thanks for the feedback, but any MySQL version other than 8.0 gives the message "not a valid setting for mysql option", and if I use 8.0 then it gives me the message I posted in my original post.

Thanks Brent, got there in the end...

Nothing wrong, just that I am looking to migrate a cPanel server full of MySQL 8 Databases :)

Welcome to the forum BTW. we love to help here. besure and read the cpanel conversion guide.
