Hello DirectAdmin community,

I need to migrate the FTP services from a dedicated FTP server to a server with DirectAdmin. The request is to keep the username/password identical.

Currently the username/passwords are like
ausername
apassword

When I try to create an FTP account with direct admin, the domain is added to the username automatically so it will become.

[email protected]
apassword

Is there any way to do without the @domain part? Perhaps use some kind of alias?

The servser is dedicated to my organisations, but will host multiple domains.
The FTP accounts have nothing to do with any domain (it's not html or anything), FTP is used to transfer large files.

Anyone have any idea?

Thanks for your time.

ftp logins are virtual unless they are actual system accounts on the server.

You can either add those users as system users (and not FTP virtual users), or edit manually /etc/proftpd.passwd using any username and specifying both existing UID and GID.
