I have DA setup to backup via FTP every week. The backup log shows that everything was transferred successfully. But, there are no files on the FTP server??? What's going on? It is setup to backup to the / directory of the FTP server.

Check to make sure you can ftp manually to the server using the same login credentials you've set up in the backup utility.

The problem may be that your firewalling is prohibiting FTP from using passive transfers.

Yes, I know it works becase DA has successfully uploaded there before. Then I changed the cron schedule to only once a week and I moved the location of the backup to a different location on the hard drive (/etc/systembackup), but that's all I remember changing and now it doesn't work. As I said before, the log shows that it backed up an it says "Completed" after every file transfer in the log, but there are no files on the FTP server when it's done???

As I wrote already,

try the same backup manually to the server.

See where it fails.

What do you mean by "manually". Do you mean click the "Run System Backup Now" button in DA? Or do you mean actually FTP from the server command line? And, by seeing where it fails, do you mean by looking in the backup log? Because the log shows that it did not fail. At the end of the last backup log file it states:

Performing cleanup operations: Completed

And, I am able to FTP to that address (with passive mode) from the network the server is on, so the firewall is not blocking it.

Thanks.

I'm presuming sysbk.

I mean from the shell, as root (sysbk runs as root) run the same command sysbk uses, and watch to see where it fails.
