ProFTPd will not start or do anything

I just did a clean install of Fedora 1 and DA. The proftpd will not start. From the command line, I try to stop it [FAILED], when I start it says [ OK ], and then I check the status and it says: proftpd dead but subsys locked. Ok, so I did: rm -f /var/lock/subsys/proftpd but it still does the same thing. The thing is, /var/lock/subsys/proftpd did not even exist.

I looked in /var/logs/proftpd, no entries at all. No entries in the vhost file at all eitther.

So, I tried to remove proftpd with: rpm -e --nodeps proftpd and then run ./proftpd.sh - I get this:

Stopping xinetd: [ OK ]
Starting xinetd: [ OK ]
Preparing... ########################################### [100%]
1:proftpd ########################################### [100%]
Preparing... ########################################### [100%]
package proftpd-standalone-1.2.9-1 is already installed

Still nothing.. Any ideas?

rpm -e --nodeps proftpd
rpm -e --nodeps proftpd-standalone

Then try it.

Anything in the logs?

Hmm, I found that webmin was installed and had its own version of proftpd installed. So I removed that and reinstalled.

It started and stoped great. I added a new domain, and now it does nothing again.
