FTP Passive Mode Problem

I had installed DirectAdmin in Amazon EC2, and create a few number of user.
But I found that when I using the FTP service, every time is linked to the Passive Mode. That make the upload speed change too slow.

This is because Amazon's EC2 is using private IP network as the main IP? I have assigned a public IP to my instance, but still have this problem. May I ask how can I fix this problem?

Try port mode instead of passive.

I don't know, what is port mode. Probably Active mode was meant, just a guess.

Actually the correct name is port mode, not active mode.
