Hello, I'm not sure if this is the correct forum; please redirect me if not -- thanks.

This morning, following a message from my DirectAdmin installation, I upgraded Apache to 2.4.55 (along with AWstats to 7.9 and RoundCube to 1.6.1) using DA's Dashboard/CustomBuild.

All the sites on that server are now complaining about an "Internal Server Error" (and don't work, of course) -- I've tried downgrading to the previous versions, in each case (via DirectAdmin's Dashboard/CustomBuild) but the situation is the same.

I'm not an expert in server management. Can anyone provide some useful pointers to try to solve this problem?

Many thanks in advance.

Paulo

@Zhenyapan, Thank you for the reply.
Which error log? In ConfigServer Security & Firewall, /var/log/httpd/error_log is showing multiple
"suexec policy violation: see suexec log for more details"

I don't know how to check the suexec log...

Thanks.

/var/log/ there all logs - check needed, then you can google errors fixed there.
also you can check systemctl status httpd

Thanks -- apparently the problem was linked to php... fastcgi didn't play ball but using php-fpm solved everything... It's still a mystery to me why this could have happened -- any suggestions/explanations greatly appreciated.

maybe you changes some configs but didn't rewrite confs - and they was rewritten automatically with update?

As far as I can tell, it was this morning's upgrade that caused the problem -- everything was working fine last night and nothing was changed in the server... Mysteries of computer technology... Thanks for the feedback, though.
