First of: i'm not that good with sites at all.

I made a site now with joomla, but i have a lot of other try outs of joomla sites. I deleted them on Installatron Applications Installer but the files are not complety gone on my ftp.
What should i do to get it all cleaned out?
And if i can be garanteed that the backupfille will still work: how do i just format my ftp?

An other question is: on my joomla site i cant edit Global Configuration. It says Could not save data. Error: Could not write to the configuration file.
Is this a file my ftp of a old joomla install who isnt completely gone?

Your hosting provider should be helping you with your hosting account. Unless you have a dedicated server or vps and admin level access to directadmin.

All website files are in /home/username/domains/domain.com/public_html

Joomla would install to a subfolder in that folder.

You will have to check your permissions to fix your could not write error.

Start at www.site-helper.com for how to use directadmin or ask your hosting provider for help fixing your issues.
