Hey guys. :)

Well, I've been trying to figure this out for a long time now and have not been able to make it work. At least not using the DA panel.

This is my case:

I have a dedicated server were I was hosting my WebPage. I need a dedicated server, though there's only one page, because we get a lot of visitors a day. However, I'm starting new projects that I want to host on that server BUT I'd like to isolate my current page from the others.

What I would like is to have a dedicated IP for my current page, and a shared one for the other projects. That's actually how I have configured the server. IP1 for server, IP2 for shared sites (assigned to a reseller) and IP3 for big site.

That's so cool, so far. BUT, server will continue having 1 hostname (let's say hostname1.mysite.com) and ALL email coming from the server will identify as coming from that hostname and from IP1. That's something I DON'T WANT as I want to isolate my big project from the other ones and I do not want it to be blacklisted or affected by the other pages. As you see, this big project is very important for me and I want to take good care of it.

What I would want to do is to have different hostnames configured on my server, so Big Project may have one, and the shared projects may have a different one. I would also like that when email is sent from Big Project the receiver identifies IP3 (dedicated IP for Big Project) and Big Project's hostname. If email is sent from any other of the shared sites, identified IP should be IP2 and hostname should be different.

Do you think there's anything I can do to get this configuration on my server? By the way, I do NOT use my servers' DNS. I use DNS from my domain registrar (Name.com).

I would really appreciate all the help you may provide and I'm willing to give you all the information and feedback you may need.

Thanks in advance!!!

Pablo Andrés.

You can't have a different hostname because your hostname is the name of the server. I suppose you can run VPS systems on your server, buy multiple DirectAdmin licenses and do it that way.

You probably can send email from different IP#s (custom work in exim.conf) and those different IP#s can have different reverse DNS listings.
