help~cant log into SSH

after typing the password and press enter....
putty prompts:
"Server unexpectedly closed network connection"

i found that only root login is allowed

i changed the config back to
Protocol 2,1
PermitRootLogin yes

and then i can login as root
any other users (including admin) cannot login

Protocol 1 is extremely dangerous; you will be hacked; lots of scans going on for it all the time.

PermitRootLogin makes it more dangerous, as it makes it easy for the scanners to do their work.

What you need is some AllowUsers lines. DA will add them for users for which you set up SSH in DA.

For yourself you'll probbly need to add the line(s) at the bottom of the sshd configuration file.

The format:

AllowUsers username
