hi i sent an email using a php script and now i keep recieving the following message. i have recieved it into my inbox about 10k times so far

A message that you sent contained one or more recipient addresses that were incorrectly constructed:

[email protected] <[email protected]>: malformed address: <[email protected]> may not follow [email protected]

This address has been ignored. The other addresses in the message were syntactically valid and have been passed on for an attempt at delivery.

------ This is a copy of your message, including all the headers. ------

regards

I could be wrong, it looks like the php mail() command could constructed incorrectly.

Where does the above email originate? Local or externally.

Nope, exim hasn't gone mad. It's simply telling you that you're trying to send email to:
By the time the email address gets to exim, it should only be the email address; it shouldn't have any other parts. Whether or not the email address is included in the <> brackets isn't the issue; the issue is that it's getting the email address twice, once in the brackets and once not.

Figure out what you've done wrong in your programming.
