Hi all friends,

When I first used DirectAdmin, everything ran normally for the first 65 users.

Then the problem occurred when yesterday there were 41 new users added.

Every time the website is accessed, the WordPress page is very slow to open.

even though the number of users is only 106, and each of them only installed 1 domain (website) using WordPress.

The following are the dedicated specifications that I have from Hetzner:

CPU : Intel® Core™ i5-13500CPU14 cores / 20 threads @ 2.5 GHz
Generation : Raptor Lake-S
RAM : 64 GB DDR4
Drives : min. 2 x 512 GB NVMe SSD (Gen4) Up to 2 x optional (at additional cost)
Locations : Finland, HEL1

How to optimize this server so that it becomes stable again, and website access for users is fast again.
your help means a lot to me ?

Hello,

Thank you for tagging me. Your request is too ambiguous, sorry to say that. If I tried to make a complete list of things to check and tune, it would be a long-reading text with numerous commands for checking and running. Something like those already existing in Internet as well as on these forums, e.g. https://events.static.linuxfound.org/sites/events/files/slides/OptimizationLinux.pdf

If we try and narrow the challenge from our side, then we will get some kind of a try and guess game. Users on the forums as well as me will post things we like the best, and things which succeed in our own cases, or worked for other users:

1. MySQL/PHP/webserver optimization
2. Partitioning, etc,
3. SWAP, RAM, CPU optimization.
4. etc.

If to speak about my recent experience, happened 1-2 days ago. A heavy loaded server with hundreds sites. A custom script for exporting data in Excel format timed out, and no export was possible. And a solution was really nice: we added a certain number of indexes to SQL tables, and now it takes less than a minute to complete the export.

Not all of us ready to play the try and guess game. Sorry. You will need to read existing threads and docs pages, and ask a specific but not an abstract question. Help us to help you please.

Doesn't seem very busy to me. But I know little about speed fixing. Hetzner is good, they already have swap space by default is all is well.

However, you could start installing opcache, that could already help making starting php sites faster.

But like @zEitEr says, there can be all kind of causes.
