Help!! My server is really messed up! Could be DNS?

I have two servers both running direct admin. da1.control8.com and da2.control8.com.

da2 seems to be running just fine.
da1 is messed up. No FTP, No mail forwarding (pop works), DNS errors, no connection with other server.

ProFTPd 1.3.0rc5 Running


1. MultiServer is setup, but da1 can't connect to da2. da2 can connect to da1. The error is:

206.251.236.221 Unable to get api result. Check your configuration options
or
Unable to open a socket



2. On da1 named service is running, but if I run dig @localhost control8.com I get:

Works fine on da2.

4. Mail (Exim) on da1

pop mail is working but forwarding is not. Exim log has lots of this error:
R=lookuphost defer (-1): host lookup did not complete

Can anyone help?

Things I have already done:

Checked firewall: using iptables. Tried with firewall completed turned off. No difference.

Ran the permission script.

Verified that FTP, Exim, Bind are all running.

Now both servers are having problems

Okay, now both servers are having the same problems.

Websites load on both servers, but running slowly. Pop Email functions.
