Help on getting front pg to show and getting 2nd domain

I'm having a problem with the front page. I've uploaded files via FTP but every time I go to my domain (www.yadiggg.com) all I see is web hosting solution advertisement. I was wondering how to get my frontage to show? The files I uploaded are in the public_html file. I don't understand what I have to do so that my front page will show? Also there were two files already in the public_html, when I signed up Index.html, and the htaccess. I don't know what htaccess is? I guess I need that explained as well?
My second question is how do I host a second domain? I read the FAQ and I couldn't find the control panel. So I'm wondering were that is so that I can click on the advanced tools. Thanks

You need to make sure you've set the nameservers your hosting company has told you to set, with the registrar where your domain is registered. You should probably delete the index.html file your hosting company has put into the public_html directory.

Only your hosting company can tell you why there's an .htaccess file in your previously unused directory, and what, if anything, you should do about it.

This is NOT a DirectAdmin related issue.
