Hello,

Im installing a new blog script and on step 6 it tells me this:

6.SUBDOMAIN
Log-in to your domain pannel and add the subdomain * ( asterix )
ex. *.mydomain.com URL-Frame Redirect to point http://www.yourdomain.com/member.php
Notice:
Not all the Domain managers support URL-Frame redirects
so you will use www.yourdomain.com/membername ( using .htaccess )

-----------------

But if I go to my panel and go to Subdomain Management and I add *.mydomain.com it tells me: Invalid subdomain name!! Everything he needs to do is this: http://myblog.mydomain.com redirecting to http://www.mydomain.com/member.php?member=myblog so they could watch there blog ofcourse

I hope someone in here can help me out!

Thanks,
Jorg

Creating a subdomain named * creates serious problems in DNS. I find it hard to believe anyone would require it. I don't see how it would be used, either. Would users actually type *.example.com into their browser?

I'm more than confused, I'm discombobulated ;) .

That * means a WILDCARD it means that everything.yourdomain.com redirects to yourdomian.com :)
