Ok just want to know how to set this up , i know this is prob simple but its just not sinking in, Here we go i have a server and i had direct admin installed, and i also got a domain, i know when ya go into admin panal its setup with the default info of the server, dns so on. I was wondering how i would set it up so i can use my domain , so i can set up the web site? do i have to change the dns in default domain or? can i just add to it some other simple way to get it going and use it? as reseller or user ? just confused what i start with. thanks

Ok i know that info i guess im having issues figuring out the ip part, since the domain has a different ip , plus the domain i got thru the server and that has different ip, if i edit the server info do i just change the name and nameservers or name nameservers with the ip provided with ip? so in record it will have both ip showing.

maybe this might help out what im talking about i have a server thru leaseweb and i registered also a domain name threw site, now when i go to the my control panal on leaseweb it has place were my domain is now i can edit the records , but it has A,A,MX,A empty boxes and a different ip, i take it i can edit that area for domain, but if so do i add name and leave the ip same or do i change to what my server ip is?
Or can i go just go into my direct admin and edit the dns on the default server info thats there from setup with server name so on and use server ip? or do i change it to the ip of the domain i explained earlier? or do i just edit the server name ip and namesevrs 1 and 2 with the new ip or does it have to be all the same ip in the record?

But anyway if anyone would be interested i could pay someone a few bucks just to help me set that part up if easier.Just getting tired of looking for the steps on this.just like to get done and be able to use it.Thanks

You need to point your domain to the nameservers that are on your server for it to work. If you want to use their dns server then you need to change the A and MX records to point to your server. The easiest way though would to just update the nameservers so they point to your server. But you also need to have registered nameservers for that to work.

I am sure there are tons of guides all over the internet to registering nameservers and pointing dns to your server.

I have never used leaseweb myself but if you cant change dns servers then just change all the A records to point to the ip of your server where you will be hosting the website. The MX records need to point to a subdomain of your domain as well. Something like mail.yourdomain.com and then you create an A record for mail.yourdomain.com that points to the ip of your server.

Ok did some looking up for domain info its already set with the correct nameservers dns so on so now , do i go into direct admin under user just add domain then do a site redirection? or what i have to do to be able to set up the web site with that url?

You only do site redirection if you are forwarding the requests to another website. If not you need to upload your website content with the file manager or ftp client to folder /home/username/domains/domain.com/public_html

Well just cant figure it out i have 2 domains but , just kicking my butt, lol anyway if someone could maybe om me or email me that maybe could help me set it up right for pay? thanks tho for helping

I don't see your domain names anywhere in this thread; that makes it very hard to help you. If you don't want to post your domain names publicly, and you're still in need of help, please feel free to email me for a quote on getting it right for you.
