Help with Password website

Hi,

I have a question.
What I’m trying to do is get my website password protected. And so that people need a Username and a password before they can enter.

I host my site on gethost.nl

How can I do this ?

but that is only if people want to get to the files.

i ment something like a webpage where you must log in, and than get acces to the website (not the gethost files)

all users who want to get in, will need an own username and password :) (wich can be set in a txt doc or something ?? )
 
Password Protected Directories give you an authentication popup box so people have to login before that can see your web site.

If you want something else then you need a custom solution that DA does not provide. There are many perl and php scripts out there to do what you want.

just 1 more question.

after people log in, the get redirected to a loginpage for a chatbox. here they can choose a chatname, but is it also posseble to just give them the chatname they have as username? so they can't choose?

and a next step will be that people that are logged in on the forum, can go in the chatbox with the username and pass from the forum.
