Hi guys,

When I was installing DA, it asked me to put something for the host name like server.mydomain.com. So I decided to put server.domain.com then hit enter. I was wondering if this will create host name for my server ?

I have a centos with static ip. After the DA installation was done, I'm able to ping this server.domain.com from other ISP and when i'm pinging server.domain.com, it points to my static ip of the DA box.

Let's say I have another centOS box and another static ip, but I don't have DA license for it yet, can I set it up so when I ping server2.domain.com then it will point to my other static ip ? How would you set it up ? I always confuse about this with DNS server, I guess this time I need to learn it. Thanks

Easiest thing to do is:

- log into your DA server
- click DNS administration and selct your main domain
- after the main entries fill in a new A record box (left hand box is the name you want, eg server2.domain.com. <- notice the period at the end of the name, right hand box is the IP address of the other server)
- click add

job done
