Hello all,

I have a (big) problem: emails sended by hotmail are not reaching our server.
This is in the message I got from hotmail:

Reporting-MTA: dns;dub0-omc4-s20.dub0.hotmail.com
Received-From-MTA: dns;DUB002-W63
Arrival-Date: Thu, 24 Jan 2013 08:13:34 -0800

Final-Recipient: rfc822;EMAILADDRESS
Action: failed
Status: 4.4.7

Unable to deliver message to the following recipients, due to being unable to connect successfully to the destination mail server.

I checked the logs, but I can't find something from the sender address.
I searched on the 4.4.7 code, but I can't find how to solve it.

Thanks in advance,
Peter

You're running Exim on DA?
Is it only hotmail which can't connection to your server? So do other incoming emails work without problems?

but I can't find something from the sender address.
That's logical because the hotmali server can't connect to your mailserver. If there is no connection, then there is no email address in the logs.
Are all DNS settings correctly? Did you check with dnsreport.com?

It is only hotmail which can't connect, all the other emails are working perfect.
The DNS records are also good.

Hi,
Numeric Code: 4.4.7
Possible Cause: The message in the queue has expired.
The sending server tried to relay or deliver the message, but the action was not completed before the message expired.
This NDR may also indicate that a message header limit was reached on a remote server or that some other protocol time-out occurred during communication with the remote server.

Troubleshooting: This code typically indicates a problem on the receiving server.
Verify the validity of the recipient address, and verify that the receiving server is configured to receive messages correctly.
You may have to reduce the number of recipients in the header of the message for the host from which you are receiving this NDR. If you resend the message, the message is added to the queue again.
If the receiving server is online, the message is delivered.

Please refer this link...

If it doesn't sove your problem, say can you confirm if this issue occurs in Windows Live Mail as your email client or via the Hotmail websites? In addition, are you accessing your account using an email client when sending emails?

If so, please double check/reconfigure your settings by referring to the steps below:

Send and receive Hotmail from an email app

In addition, you may also want to check this link regarding the error message you've encountered and how to fix this issue.

If you are a customer using the 3rd party email service or a Hotmail customer who is unable to receive emails from a particular 3rd party domain:

Contact your domain administrator and ask them to get in touch with the Hotmail Sender Support Team. They have to fill out the e-form that can be found on this link.

I found that too, but it aren't the emails sent to hotmail, but sent from hotmail.

Aha, Might be your Hotmail set up has problem, Did you setup another mail and test it? I highly recommend you to make another account and check for that.

In addition, you may also want to check thislink, And the original from Microsoft is here.

If you are using outlook change the Outgoing server port to 587 (may be the ISP server closed the default port) and tick these on Outgoing server tab.

- My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication
- Use same settings as my incoming mail server

Thanks for the effort, but it didn't solve the problem.
Im trying to send emails from the web-interface (hotmail.com/outlook.com).
I also tried it with other accounts, and I got the same error.

I just read from somebody who had exactly the same issue in februari last year.

Seems this can be a hotmail delivery issue for some kind of reason. You can try to get it fixed by the online form
here.

I had a converstation with Hotmail (which was really really fast answered).
They sent a test mail and it was delivered without any error message:

We sent a test email to the email address and it was delivered without any error message.
Kindly check your server setting since there does not seem to be any problem with your domain being blocked by Hotmail.

But the emails from me and others are still not being delivered.
Im pointless.

Problem solved: Hotmail was in the Firewal..
Don't know why and how.

Strange that the test message was succesful and that Hotmail didn't try it from another IP.
