Hotmail Queued emails issue

Ok, some client came to me and said he wasn't getting any emails to his hotmail account, checked the logs and found:

I can confirm this as I tried myself and got the same issue, no email...
Tested via php mail() and SMTP. Same result.

I doubt our IP's are blocked, but just incase I submitted a report, and got this back:

Note: Errors are unlikely, however, if an error is indicated, please resubmit the specific IP or IP range.

I'm at a loss now. Any ideas?

Ok, so got this back from hotmail:

Our investigation has determined that there are no active blocks against these IP(s); however, some messages were filtered. We have confirmed that these IP(s) are eligible for conditional mitigation, but may be subject to low daily email limits until they have established a good reputation. Please note that this mitigation does not guarantee that your mail will be delivered to a user's inbox.

Mitigation may take 24 - 48 hours to replicate completely throughout our system.

I can guess the reason is that most users use damn FORWARDERS, which if the original mail is spam, hotmail sees it from me!!

BAN EXTERNAL FORWARDERS I say!

Ban Hotmail I say. This is just another example of the arrogance that some email providers display against their users.

Come-on... they take your email but they don't bother to deliver it.

Gee, isn't that against the RFCs?

Publicize those words across the 'net; try to make their postmasters feel some accountability to their users.

I used to have a similar problem with AOL, but I don't anymore.

Why? Because AOL has set up (for years now) a program where I register my IP#s with them, and any email that's reported to them as spam get's sent back to me. All of it. Only a few a day or even less. I work to clean legitimate problems, and they continue to deliver my email.

Note that AOL, Hotmail, and others to a lesser extent, sometimes queue email for later delivery during periods of peak email receipt. But if they say it's queued, then they should deliver, and to keep their users happy, they shouldn't delay it too long.

I also registered my IPs with AOL even though they're horrid

But seriously, how do we know when hotmail blocks/filters us? A 250 status means "Requested mail action okay, completed", so, you know, we automatically think it's ok.. A 550 status means really blocked.

Even if we are filtered, we should be told this......

Oh well, what can we do, nothing much aye.

Generally we are told, in the message following the '250', but I agree with you'; they're not following the rules.
