Everytime I try to create a ftp account on directAdmin it creates a username with @,
like shown in this page http://www.site-helper.com/ftp.html

Any way to change that directly on the config files using ssh or disable this annoying enforcement?

thanks

You can create a server-level ftp account from the command line with the adduser script supplied by your OS vendor, or the useradd shell command, but that will create a default directory at /home/NAME, and files will all be owned by NAME. If you want to FTP to directories in a username and have them owned by that username, then you should let DirectAdmin create them as scsi wrote directly above.
