Hi,

Is there a way to stop pop3 and imap binding to all IPs?

We have done this ok for smtp.

Hello,

If you run the vm-pop3d as a deamon, then it might not be possible. If you set it to run through xinetd, then it may be possible (for both pop and imap) to be setup for certain IPs. I'm not farmiliar with the xinetd.conf for doing that sort of thing, but found this page:

http://synack.net/xinetd/sample.shtml

there is a "bind" line.. which might be what you're looking for.

ok thanks for that... also....

We really need to be able to tell your imapd implementation to only bind to certain ips too. Is this possible?

Hi,

Since running vm-pop3d with xinetd we are getting the following message......

"The service 'vm-pop3d' on server uk1.netmotivated.com is currently down"

How can we disable this check?

pico -w /usr/local/directadmin/data/admin/services.status

vm-pop3d=ON

to

vm-pop3d=OFF
