How to access FrontPage Admin

Sorry jm,
How exactly does this address frontPage sub-webs, which you need the FPAdmin to do? Maybe I'm missing something.

While we're on the topic of Frontpage (sorry that I can't help), why is there no option to install Frontpage ext. to the SSL (private_html) directory?

That's a good question. I just wish secure and regular web dirs were the same. It would make things a lot easier. For a few that want it otherwise, it's not a big deal to setup.

FPAdmin is for older versions I think. FP Subwebs are created from within FP for versions 2000(?)/2002/XP/2003. You just create a new folder from FP folder view, right click on it and create subweb.

On the SSL stuff, I am new to DA but do you mean that when using the shared ssl setup, the ssl access is restricted to a certain folder within the account only?

By default, yes.

A systems administrator can solve the problem by logging in as root, deleting the private_html directory, and creating a link from private_html to public_html.

(If you do this be positive no one has added anything important to the directory before you delete it.)

The downside is that once you've done it, any visitor can look at any secure page insecurely.

That's the last I've done.

I'll be installing a new testbed system soon, and when I do I'll try the install from the howto.

At that time I'll see if I've somehow accidentally left anything else.

But I don't have the time right now :( .
