How to add another hard drive to CentOS for DA backups?

Have a Dell R410 server running CentOS 5.7 with DA.

I have another hard drive that I want to install in one of the server's open hard drive bays.

Once I physically install the drive into the server, how do I setup the drive in CentOS and format it so DA will see it?

Once DA sees it, I would like to have DA do nightly backups to this hard drive.

Thanks in advance for any assistance and help with this.

Hello,

You should add a second drive and do all requirements as if you had no Directadmin installed. It means, that directadmin does not regulate such a process.

I've Googled and find some How-Tos:

http://www.techrepublic.com/article/adding-a-second-drive-in-linux/5033447
http://www.idevelopment.info/data/U...ioningandFormattingSecondHardDrive_ext3.shtml

Note, I did not verify them, so use them on your own risk. If you don't like them you are free to find to any other. As soon as your second drive will be ready to use, then you mount it, let's say, as /backups and change directadmin backup settings (in case you're using "Admin Backup/Transfer"). If you're using a reseller level backups, then you will probably need to move reseller's homedir to a new location or use symlinks.
