I could not find answer of :
1. Is it possible to a second server to DA?
2. If yes, how and how also licensing work?
3. Or DA does not support more than one server?

Thanks

DirectAdmin requires one license per server; that's true if the server is a dedicated server or a virtual server.

Note that DirectAdmin will only run on a static public IP#. It will not work behind NAT or on dynamic IP# connections.

Also note that DirectAdmin can run slave DNS automatically in a multi-server environment, but other than that, does NOT support single management for multiple servers.

So if I prefer to use DA and want to seperate mail and web server to two different server, DA will not manage them unlike windows control panel like helm. But how possible, has EVERYONE who uses DA have all services on SAME server like Web, Mail, DNS, Mysql etc. Is this because linux is not like windows and does not eat ram and cpu or other resources like windows do?

Hi Ozgur

you *can* separate your servers if you want to. But this will need extra work.
Directadmin does not support several services on different machines out of the box. But you can do it.
Directadmins approach is - one server for all - fill it with desired account count and move on to next one :)
Please stop comparing windows stuff to linux stuff.
There are other linux panels which can do what you need btw.

That was what I trying to learn thx guys. Actually, by the view of your side, I was not meaning to compare linux to windows. I meant to give an example. But maybe it is not comparable with helm4 together windows 2008 which runs like charm, you are right :)

To answer one of your questions, ozgurerdogan, Linux servers easily manage many services (daemons) per server, unlike Windows, which often does better with individual services per physical server.

I'm sure a properly configured Windows 2008 server with Help will work well for people who choose to be conversant with Windows; so does DirectAdmin on many versions of Linux and FreeBSD, for those of us conversant with Linux.

If you need/want to switch to to Linux, or even us a mixture of Linux and Windows under one control panel you may want to look at H-Sphere, now owned by Parallels, H-Sphere handles multiple servers.

There are reasons why I don't like that solution, but that's just my opinion.

DirectAdmin is best for me, but probably not for everyone.

Thanx guys again. I have some more questions: When DA is compared to Cpanel, I do not actually see that much differences that would worth that high price. But what I noticed is that, there is no info about spam and AV protection for DA or did I miss something? How do you guys protect mails against spam and files against viruses? Extra ptroection method or any plugin for DA. One more thing is that, I see some sites offering skins and plugins for DA, is there any harm by using them, or they are just cool to use?
