how to Change IP on my domain

I was wondering how I can change the IP for my main domain without deleting the whole zone?
could I just create another A record with the new IP and delee the other one?
I mean I have customers using the nameservers for the domain and I don't want to have to delete the whole zone and re-add it.
the nameservers are on 2 different IP's then the main IP.
The reason I am asking is I have installed Centovacast, and in order to integrate FTP access for auto dj I have to use a different domain than DA runs on. Right now my domain goes to the main IP.
I hope this makes sense.
 
ok I figured out how to set a dedicated / static IP for my admin account on DA. Now the question is, that when I ping my domain, it is still showing the old IP?
Is this normal, and how long does it take for the domain to resolve to the new IP?

Up to several days... depending on many and many things. If you provide here your real domain name, we could check its DNS settings.
 
It ended up that it had already resolved. I had to clear my dns cache on my computer to see it.
