It is possible to have a mailbox that also forwards a copy of the mail to another account?

Let's say for example the owner of a company wants to monitor [email protected]'s email so he would like a copy of all his incoming emails. Is there a way to forward bob's mail to another account and also leave the mail in the box?

Thanks,

Keefe

I believe if you set up the mailbox and then a forward, that it will both forward the email and leave it in the box.

Try it and see.

When I did that the forward-to address received the mail but the box didn't.

If my recollection is correct then what I wrote should work for user level email accounts but not for ther email accounts created by default when a user or reseller is created.

In my testing this didn't work. The forwarded-to email address received the message, but the actual mailbox didn't.

Any suggestions?

I haven't looked recently to see if any changes have been made to the exim.conf file since I last determined the behavior.

If the standard exim.conf file doesn't work you can create some custom changes to do it.

But it would be either system wide, or quite a bit of changes.

This seems like a fairly critical feature. I have many clients that do this on my other system.

jlasman's way is right. I've been doing that setup for over a year now and not once had a problem so DA is able to. If it helps I created the email and then set the forward (you prolly tried it already though).

I suppose if one did not wan't to collect the email then they wouldn't need to setup the pop account, just the forward.

That's right rldev.

We only set up forwards for clients who don't want popboxes.
