How to properly setup SMTP mail with DirectAdmin Panel?

Hello,

Your post is too ambiguous, so the best answer, as I see it, would be as following. You should give us more details on the subject you're worried about, as SMTP server works enough good from the box, if it's possible to say so. To say other words default settings which you get with directadmin installations cover and satisfy the most needs, of course if you need something special, you should firstly decide what exactly you want and then tell us, so we could help you if you need our assistance.

So what you want? And what you already have?

What values should I input into this fields:

Email Transport Method

SMTP
Host = ?
Port = ?

Authentication:
None = yes / no ?

User Name = ?
Password = ?

Encryption:
Is it None , TLS or SSL ?

You need to ask to your hosting provider.

Otherwise, if you have your own server and lets say you did set domain.com data should be:

host mail.domain.com
port 25 or 587

authentication if port 25 none if port 587 yes

username, email address you did create so lets say [email protected]
password, well, password you choosed on email creation.

encryption, none or tls, unless you got a valid ssl cert

I don't use squirrelmail and did not face such an issue. So in this particular case I have nothing to suggest you.

You can use many clients, Thundebrird, Outlook, EudoraMail or webmails, roundcube, uebimiau, squirrelmail, afterlogic.

Is really up to you, i use Mozilla Thunderbird client.

Regards

I would ask, Among the list what is compatible with DirectAdmin? or is included in custom template ?

Hire a professional, as you're asking how to do each step, means you're not confident with ssh. And that's dangerous. #justsaying
